The AI Employee Inbox is different from every other integration: there’s nothing to connect and no account to authorize. Each project gets its own AI employee with a real email address — forward it anything about the project and it becomes knowledge the whole team can ask about. Because Brink provisions the mailbox itself, the AI Employee Inbox card on the Integrations page has no Connect button. It lists the inboxes that already exist and points you at a project’s inbox page to create another.
Project inboxes are enabled per organization. If you don’t see the inbox option, ask Brink to enable it for your organization.

Set up a project inbox

1

Open the project inbox page

During onboarding, or any time from the sidebar account menu (the Project inbox link, named for whatever your organization calls projects), open the project’s inbox page.
2

Give this project an inbox

Pick a Name (Sam, Riley, Jordan, Avery and Quinn are suggested — or use your own), an Avatar, and a Personality: Balanced (professional and even-handed), Warm (friendly, a little more human), Direct (plain, no softening), or Concise (the short version, always). Click Create the inbox.
3

Share the address

Setting up the mailbox takes a moment. When it’s ready, copy the Inbox address and share it with your team. Forward emails, CC it on threads, or have subs and vendors send documents directly to it.

The project inbox page — the employee, its inbox address, and its routines

Anything sent or forwarded to this address becomes project knowledge — visible to everyone on this project. It is deliberately not a personal mailbox.

Managing the employee

The identity card at the top of the inbox page shows the employee’s name, personality, and status — Setting up, Active, Paused, or Archived — with two controls:
  • Pause / Resume — stop and restart the employee without losing the address or anything it has already learned.
  • Recreate inbox (owners and admins) — retire the mailbox and mint a new one.
Recreate inbox creates a different address. Mail sent to the old one will no longer be delivered to anyone. Use it only when the inbox failed to set up, or when you deliberately want a fresh address.

Routines

The Routines panel lists what your AI employee does on its own:
  • Auto-index inbound mail (always on) — everything that arrives becomes searchable project knowledge, and attachments flow into the Document Center.
  • Auto-reply to teammates (on by default) — answer people on this project directly from the inbox.
  • Morning briefing (off by default) — a short daily summary of what came in overnight.

The Activity feed

Activity shows everything that came in or went out, and what was done with it. Each row carries the sender’s tier — Teammate, Known, or Unknown — and the employee’s decision: Indexed, Created a task, Sent (a reply), or Ignored. When a message turns into work, a Steps panel below the feed shows what that task is working through.

What the AI employee will and won’t do

The AI employee is deliberately conservative:
  • The only action it takes autonomously is an informational reply within an existing thread, to an address already on that thread.
  • Anything consequential — sending new outbound mail, writing to a system of record, anything touching money or schedule — requires human approval and shows up as a proposed action on your task list.
  • Machine-generated mail, reply loops, and mail between AI employees are filtered before any response is considered.
  • The sender’s tier caps what can ever be authorized — an unknown sender gets less than a teammate.
